Kintamani Volcano Tour
Our first stop is a traditional morning market, where you can observe the Balinese community engaging in their daily ritual of selecting fresh produce, spices, and ceremonial offerings. These markets have been central to Balinese life for centuries, serving as social hubs where locals gather not just for trade but also for cultural exchange.
Next, we journey to Kintamani, where you’ll take in breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Batur, an active volcano that has shaped the region’s landscape for thousands of years. Revered in Balinese Hinduism as a sacred embodiment of Lord Brahma, Mount Batur has experienced multiple eruptions, with its most significant in 1963, altering the surrounding villages. Below lies Lake Batur, the island’s largest crater lake, believed to be the spiritual dwelling of Dewi Danu, the goddess of water and fertility.
On our descent, we’ll stroll through lush coffee and fruit plantations, where you can witness traditional Balinese coffee cultivation methods, including the production of Luwak coffee, one of the world’s rarest and most sought-after brews.
Our journey continues to Tirta Empul Temple, a revered Hindu water temple founded in 926 AD during the Warmadewa Dynasty. Located in Tampaksiring Village, this temple is famous for its sacred purification pools, where Balinese Hindus and visitors alike partake in the melukat ritual—an ancient spiritual cleansing ceremony believed to wash away negative energy and restore balance. The temple’s holy springs are said to have been created by the god Indrain a mythical battle against a malevolent king.
Finally, we conclude our tour at Gunung Kawi Temple, one of Bali’s most mystical and ancient archaeological sites, dating back to the 11th century. Nestled in a lush valley, this temple complex is home to ten massive rock-cut shrines (candi), carved directly into the cliffside as royal funerary monuments for King Anak Wungsu and his family of the Udayana Dynasty. As you wander through this serene sanctuary, you’ll be transported back in time, surrounded by the whispers of Bali’s royal past and the tranquil beauty of the Pakerisan River.
