Rural Biking Tour

Experience the heart of Bali on a fun and immersive cycling tour, designed to take you through the island’s cultural and agricultural landscapes. This journey offers not just an adventure, but a deeper understanding of Balinese traditions, farming techniques, and daily life.

  • Your day begins with an 8:00 AM hotel pickup, followed by a visit to a coffee and tea plantation, where you’ll learn about Bali’s centuries-old coffee culture. The island has been cultivating coffee since the Dutch colonial era in the 18th century, and today, it is especially known for Luwak coffee, one of the rarest and most unique brews in the world. As you explore the plantation, you’ll see traditional roasting methods and get a chance to sample a variety of locally grown teas and coffees.

  • Next, you’ll be driven to the village of Petang, where your cycling adventure begins. Riding downhill through small villages, lush forests, and rice paddies, you’ll witness Bali’s ancient Subak irrigation system, a UNESCO-listed tradition dating back over 1,000 years. This cooperative water-sharing method, rooted in Tri Hita Karana philosophy(the harmony between people, nature, and spirituality), has sustained Bali’s rice farming for generations. As you cycle, you’ll observe local farmers working in the fields—planting, harvesting, and sometimes even using traditional buffalo-drawn plows, a technique still preserved in certain areas. Don’t be afraid to step off your bike and get a little muddy as you try your hand at planting rice!

  • After about 2.5 hours of cycling, you’ll arrive at a traditional Balinese home, where you’ll be warmly welcomed by a local family. Here, you’ll enjoy a home-cooked Balinese meal, prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. As you dine, you’ll also have the opportunity to learn the art of Balinese offerings (canang sari)—the small, intricate flower baskets placed daily at temples, shrines, and doorsteps as a gesture of gratitude to the gods.

This tour includes hotel pickup and drop-off, a guided cycling experience, lunch, mineral water, and your choice of a soft drink or fresh coconut.

Don’t miss this opportunity to cycle through Bali’s breathtaking countryside, immerse yourself in local traditions, and experience firsthand the deep spiritual and agricultural heritage that shapes Balinese life.

We provide transportation to and from your hotel or villa.
